The Ohio Bicycle Federation (OBF) is the advocacy organization representing Ohio bicyclists at the state level. After 8 years of work and 4 bills, OBF's House Bill 154 was approved by the Ohio Senate and signed into law in December, 2016. The new OBF law became effective March 21, 2017. The new law:
1. Requires that Ohio motorists pass cyclists leaving at least three feet of clearance.
2. Permits any Ohio vehicle to proceed through an intersection after stopping and yielding right-of-way when not detected by the device meant to move the signal from red to green.
