Free and open to all UP Co. athletes and friends of; local, online athletes, very casual to the usual suspects and anyone new to the game - our Long Runs are always free, as free as the Darug, Gundungurra, Wiradjuri, Wanaruah, Darkinjung and Tharawal country we run through ๐
This run will be taking in the the best of the Upper Blue Mountains National Park and some big descents and ascents. There will be four options and all start and finish at the same location. This should also be a pretty dry run too!

----------------------------
The trails are at best sparsely marked by information boards and/or signs, so please load the GPX file into your navigational devices if you can, follow using the Strava App on your phone and/or print out maps to use. These are moderate difficulty runs and you MUST be prepared. If you don't know how to load a route and follow it on your watch, please seek out video tutorials on YouTube or organise to run with someone that has previously been and is familiar with the route. Please don't assume that you will have someone to run with or the route will be easy to follow.
I would like to stress that this is NOT an 'organised' event or a 'pack' run and you will have to be self-sufficient. I take no actions to, nor take responsibility for, keeping you from becoming lost, keeping you safe and unharmed or generally looking after your well-being out there. Coaches may be present, however even so, their level of involvement will be totally up to them - these runs are FREE and they have not been engaged to work in a coaching capacity.
Again, this is NOT a guided run. As such, please be familiar with the route, navigation and be self-sufficient always. Full responsibility is 100% with those participating to be confident and prepared and able to run and navigate these routes and be able to keep themselves safe and troubleshoot issues if misadventure happens to occur.
๐๐ก๐๐ญ ๐ฒ๐จ๐ฎ ๐ฐ๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ ๐ง๐๐๐:
- Enough water and food for 2-4h of running. There is no water along the way.
- Your phone, with my number 0422 233 463 loaded in.
- IMPORTANT: Snake bandage, survival blanket and first aid. Your 'first port of call' is yourself or the person/party immediately with you. Snakes are out and about, and this is a very remote location, so take heed!
- You may want to have some extra clothing ready for the finish too.
๐๐ก๐๐ญ ๐ฒ๐จ๐ฎ ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ ๐๐จ:
Select 'Going' or writing a post within the event. Others will see this too and this may help with carpooling and run grouping arrangements.
- Sign on in the morning on the sheet provided at briefing, and sign off when you return.
- SMS or FB message me on 0422 233 463 that you're finished after the run if you forget to sign off on the sheet or the sheet has gone home with me already. If I don't hear from you, I will treat you as a missing person and begin search and/or rescue operation procedures.
It would be good to have a good party come along so people of similar ability can run together and take in the sights. It's as much a social occasion as it is a 'training' run as such so please endeavour to regroup as much as possible.
Please post in this event if you'll be attending so OTHERS can see. I want EVERYONE to feel welcome and hopefully will have others to run with.
๐๐จ๐ฌ๐ญ ๐๐ฎ๐ง: Mountain High Pies, Wentworth Falls
Anyone with sound trail experience and thinks they can cover the distance and elevation is more than welcome to attend :-)
